I am currently taking a break from addressing the envelopes of our wedding invitations. I've been on this task for quite a while now, seven hours to be exact!
It's just so hard when your guests have titles -- lawyers, doctors, engineers, priests, politicians, judges. I have to stop every now and then and make sure I address the envelope properly. It becomes doubly hard when the husband and the wife have two different titles, like the wife is a doctor and the husband is a lawyer. Or if the case is already like that and the children are still invited!
Here's what I have learned:
No titles are used for engineers in addressing invitations.
When the husband is a lawyer and the wife is a doctor, the wife's name comes first and the husband does not have a title.
ex. Dr. Ann Santos and Mr. Tim Santos
So you see, I am already having a headache with all of these social etiquette!
But here's something that makes me happy....
.
I bought my bridal shoes yesterday and despite my tiny feet, they fit me!
I can't wait to wear them!
Very pretty shoes! Good luck with the rest of the invitations!
ReplyDeleteThanks Brook. I'm done with half of them. I'll do the rest tomorrow.
DeleteThose invites sound like a bit of a headache. I don't have too many friends with titles so perhaps as and when the time comes it won't be so difficult for me! Keep hanging in there though - you'll be finished in no time.

Thanks Sarah. I hope to finish the job tomorrow. Heading over to your blog now.
DeleteAwww, I love those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea so much etiquette went into addressing invites! However, for our wedding I don't think we had many people with official "titles" that were invited...so maybe that's why I had no idea..? :-) Good luck with the rest!
Oh wow what a task! Seems ages ago I got wed but was only 2 months ago! Lovely shoes xx
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to weddings there is always something it get done. So sometimes it is okay to take a break and rejuvenate the soul. It can also be completed tomorrow.
