A glimpse of recent weeks....

There have been so many things that happened lately but there never seems to be enough time to write a post.  Also, as I have said, my slow wifi is making everything worse.  Luckily, I have time tonight to show you some of the things I've been up to.

Most of these pics were taken in HK where our whole family had a short holiday.  Thankfully, I was lucky not to have spent anything for this trip.

with my favorite Disney character!

Disneyland was crowded that time, probably because we were there on the week of the Lunar New Year.

Here's the whole family less Ruel who was the one taking the photo.

Valentine's Day date with my two boys

We brought my son to the historic Barasoain Church two Sundays ago.  He loves history so I thought hearing Mass there would be a good idea.

I guess that's all I have time for tonight.    Hopefully when my days turn lazier I'll be able to blog again more regularly.

short update

It feels like I haven't updated this blog for so long. I haven't given anyone a reason to come here for weeks, if I am not mistaken. I guess you can say that I've been so wrapped up with my little world, with its little problems of home and work that I've hardly had the time to go online. The slow speed of my wifi is not helping one bit.

So anyway, I've been spending a lot of time in school. We have an upcoming concert on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of March and I've been practicing together with the university chorale until 8pm daily. We even practice Saturdays and Sundays.  On top of that, Im also giving review classes to the sixth graders for their national achievement test.

The 25th is a holiday so I'm hoping I'll be able to post some  recent pics which I've been wanting to share with you all.

Till then....

Just Being Sentimental

I was in the middle of making a somewhat negative post about our recent trip to HK when I stumbled upon a story which I thought was worth sharing.  In fact, it inspired me so much that I opted to abandon the post I was making and to just start a new one.

This story was shared on Facebook by someone I knew in grade school.

She said that one time she was grilling some barbecues with her dad, her dad explained to her the difference between heaven and hell.

In hell, where it is always too hot, people keep grilling barbecues.  In heaven, people eat cotton candies and the barbecues that the people in hell had grilled.

And then upon seeing a street child outside their yard,  her dad stood up and gave the child a stick of barbecue.  Then he went back to her daughter, smiled, and said, "Heaven."

I bet my classmate is real proud of her dad and of the memories he left her with.

I stared at her facebook post for quite sometime, reflecting on how I spend time with my son and on the kind of things I'm able to teach him, on the kind of memories he has of me in his memory bank.

My son is now 14 years old and I want to be able to give him more than I have ever given him.  I wish and  I pray that God will give me the strength, the good health, and needed resources to build many more memories with my son and that He will shower me with wisdom and grace to teach my son through my words and actions the things that I want him to learn.
